THE DARK KNIGHT PROJECT A duo of young film-makers come to Gotham City to film a documentary on whether the Batman is real or a myth. The members of the Gotham City Police Department deny Batman's existence while regular citizens are split on their beliefs. Meanwhile, Batman is doing the best he can to interfere with all of the Penguin's schemes. With the buzz surrounding the documentary film, he has to work hard to stay out of the film-makers way. At least, as Bruce Wayne, he is able to anger the Penguin by purchasing his base of operations only to have it demolished at a later stage. However, the film-makers' presence in Gotham affords the Penguin an opportunity to distract Batman from him. The Penguin sends the duo to Arkham Asylum to interview Two-Face, who some say created the Batman back when he was D.A. Harvey Dent to frighten the criminal elements. During the interview, a riot breaks out and Two-Face tries to escape. Batman saves the two students and takes them outside of the prison. He tells the two film-makers that he needs to stay a myth to be able to strike fear into the hearts of those criminals who not know of his existence. This convinces the duo and they promise to abandon the film before Batman heads back into Arkham to support the prison guards.
